SHANE JONES NZCLS, FRGS

New Zealand born Shane Jones established his career in surveying upon achieving his New Zealand Certificate in Land Surveying. He has since built an strong international portfolio, delivering projects across diverse and often challenging environments, including Brunei, Niue, Micronesia, Egypt, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Bermuda and Jersey.

In 1997, Shane relocated to the United Kingdom to further advance his expertise and broaden his global experience within the surveying profession.

With over 25 years of industry experience, Shane has successfully delivered projects ranging from bespoke residential topographical surveys to large-scale earthworks and prestigious developments such as The Shard, where he undertook detailed as-built surveying works. He also specialises in advanced drone photogrammetry, providing high-accuracy data capture for volumetric analysis, terrain modelling and construction monitoring.

Shane combines traditional surveying expertise with modern technology to deliver precise, reliable data, tailored to meet the exacting standards of each client.

Elevations Drawings

Elevation drawings provide an accurate visual record of a building’s appearance before and after works are completed, helping to document changes and ensure clarity throughout the project lifecycle.

Floor Plans

Tahi Engineering utilises a total station alongside laser distance meters to produce accurate floor plans quickly and efficiently.

3D Earthworks Modelling

Development of accurate 3D models to visualise site cut and fill requirements, enabling precise calculation of material volumes to be added or removed before earthworks begin.

Monitoring

To ensure any signs of structural movement around the site are identified early, monitoring surveys are conducted both prior to and throughout the construction phase.

Drone Photogrammetry & Data

Using drone photogrammetry, we can produce accurate, geo-referenced 3D models of sites, enabling precise volumetric calculations for cut and fill, stockpiles and earthworks, This also allows for repeatable cross sections, building and ground profiles, and clear progress tracking over time, providing reliable data for planning, measurement and reporting.
